 Accident involving twin train and two vehicles leaves fatal victim between Itaara and Santa Maria

Serious accident involving a bitrem truck loaded with soy and two vehicles on the BR-158, between Itaara and Santa Maria, at 315 just above towards Santa Maria Itaara from the Vale do Menino Deus bridge, on the morning of this Tuesday (10), left at least one person dead.

The information was confirmed by the Federal Highway Police (PRF). Traffic is completely blocked for anyone traveling through the area. There is still no information on how the accident happened or details about the victims. A vehicle was reportedly trapped beneath the truck. The incident is ongoing.

Traffic interrupted from the Castelinho viaduct in Santa Maria and at the beginning of the Perau descent in Itaara and diverted to light vehicles via the Perau Velho road. Several teams from the PRF, Firefighters and Military Brigade responded to the incident.
